Maisons Du Monde Junior edit.

It’s rather lovely when a brand you already love and shop with gets in contact, even more so if they want to collaborate, so when Maisons Du Monde asked me to create an edit for their new Junior collection I was very happy indeed.
I have chosen pieces that I love and would want in my own home and/or would give as gifts to friends and family.

It was very difficult to be so selective as so many of the pieces would look perfect in our house and I know you’ll love them too.

The girls and I had fun this weekend putting together a few shots in the glorious sunshine.

I am so in love with this photo, the gorgeous light, the colours and Eula’s little face! The love balloon was from eBay, I know you’ll want to know about that fab little extra too!

Plume Rattan chair, Bird Song Gold Star Garland, Moonlight Rubberwood Coat Stand, Naomi Ecru Cotton Rug, Joy Rattan and White Armchair, Blush Origami Lantern Lights, Maya Basket, Sixties Daybed

Something I look for when it comes to choosing furniture is whether it’s multifunctional. I love something that serves more than one purpose, this is a trick I use in most rooms in our house. Some of you may recognise the similarities between the Joy Rattan chair and the vintage hoop one I used to own, which you all went crazy for…

I loved that chair, but it was very low, so this limited it’s uses, but this lovely MDM modern homage to a classic design is the right height for both adults and children, you can sit at a desk or up to a dining table, use it as a spare seating option when you have extra guests, in the garden, so it goes beyond just being a nice looking chair.

The Joy armchair looks fab in Nancy’s room and is a great height for the twin slot shelving desk. You can read more about the shelving in ‘Nancy’s bedroom transformation’ and also ‘Quick, easy and beautiful twin slot shelving’.   The Moonlight Coat rack is great for displaying favourite pieces of clothing, or maybe for fancy dress storage.

You’ll see I also chose the beautiful little Plume rattan chair (top left of collage) for my edit, most of you know me by now, I have a real weakness when it comes to children’s chairs so couldn’t leave this one out of my selection, please tell me I’m not the only one to have perhaps a few too many scattered throughout the house….and garden room….and garage. Yes, I know I have a problem!!

What I have always enjoyed about Maisons Du Monde is the vast range of styles they offer, they don’t necessarily latch onto one ‘trend’, they cater for all tastes, which means you can create your own unique interior styling.

The lovely Sixities daybed would look perfect in any little person’s Scandi bedroom, but you could easily swing the styling more towards a maximalist bohemian/ ethnic feel, layering cushions and mattresses. If the Garden room were bigger I would definitely have a daybed in there, to escape to and lounge about on, sounds like heaven doesn’t it!

I know quite a few friends and family who are expecting babies this year so this was in my mind as I made my edit, what would I like to give a loved one as a gift? I know from my own experiences of having babies that I already had all the clothing that I could possibly want, but would have (and did) appreciate the gifts that we could go on enjoying over the years, a basket to store nappies and toys then later fancy dress and blankets. A beautiful garland or lights to adorn some lucky little person’s bedroom, a brilliant house shaped shelf to show off favourite bits and pieces. Nancy chose the Maya basket because ‘it has pink fluffy things Mum’, hahah! Clearly this is an essential accessory detail for this 5 year old.

The Naomi rug is wonderful with it’s neutral background and mustard yellow triangle print. This piece would definitely work in a child’s bedroom, but equally in the living room too.

It was Eula’s idea to get into the big Maya basket ‘because Nance can’t so ha!’, when she puts on those sunglasses she clearly thinks she’s too cool for school!

Nancy is really chuffed with herself at the moment because she’s realising she can now pick up her favourite books and actually read the stories for herself, she still loves to be read to, but it’s rather beautiful seeing her developing her own confidence.

So there we are, some lovelies for you to peruse, I hope you liked this little collaboration between Maisons Du Monde and myself, I’ve certainly enjoyed myself, as have Nancy and Eula. Let me know what your favourite piece is, I really enjoy hearing from you.

**Edit, at the time of publishing this post the Maya basket is now out of stock, but will be available again in August. Make sure you have a really good look at their other basket options, not only in the Junior collection, as MDM have serious basket game going on at the moment, you all know about my love and appreciation of a good basket!!

This post is sponsored by Maisons Du Monde, but all opinions are my own. I only work with brands that I would have in my own home, that way I can be honest and true to my readers and the Brand themselves  xx
