Collection: Our Makers

A small edit of the independent makers we work with most closely. Mostly British, often small studios or one person at a wheel or a workbench. Every piece is made by hand, so each one is a little different from the next.

  • Bel Holland throws her speckled stoneware in the Peak District. A few pieces, like the Brushstroke mug and serving bowls, are made exclusively for us.
  • Fern Taylor makes nerikomi ceramics in South London, layering coloured clays so the pattern runs right through, and stamps the pieces she makes for us with our mark.
  • Hagstone Pottery is a few hundred yards from our shop door in Lostwithiel.
  • Jane Lake makes her soap dishes and candle plates in Plymouth.
  • Magnificent Mud makes stoneware dishes and candle holders in West Sussex.
  • Leach Pottery in St Ives has been making hand-thrown pots since 1920.
  • Angus Wood hand forges his bottle openers just over the border in Devon.
  • Selwyn House turns and shapes English wood in a rural Northamptonshire workshop.
  • Moorlands, Five Bees Yard and Nature's Beeswax Cornwall hand dip and pour our English beeswax candles, and Cedar hand pours its candles in Manchester.
